We have lived in Southern and Central Maine since 1999, having moved about quite a bit over the last several years while acquiring property and developing real estate. We are originally from South Florida and have fallen madly in love with the Maine way of life. North meets South (or vice versa, I suppose)!!
All of our dogs live within our home and are first and foremost our family pets. We currently own six Golden Retrievers (2 studs and 4 bitches). We still lament the loss of our wonderful Golden, Tamara, the matriarch of our Doggy world in the summer of '03. Our Golden Retrievers are all shades of Gold! He likes- the dark goldens, She likes the creme goldens.
Quality not quantity
We only breed occasionally, maintaining high standards of temperament, character and conforming to A.K.C. requirements. Our dogs are preliminary certified free of Hip Displasia by OFA and Eyes are cleared by CERF. Our puppies are born and reared in the home, Parents are A.K.C. registered and all pups are sold with limited (meaning they are not to be bred) A.K.C registration papers to protect them. They are thoroughly wormed at 2,4 and 6 weeks of age before leaving for their new homes.They leave us with a puppy kit including a comprehensive puppy care guide, health and vaccination record, food coupons, and sample bag of Purina One puppy food. They also come with a one year health guarantee against hip and eye genetic defects.

Puppy Guarantee Agreement
This document is a written guarantee between this breeder and
___________________________________________.
This guarantee is for a ______________________________puppy.
Said puppy is sired by ____________________________________. Total purchase price of said puppy is $_____________. If the amount given is a deposit or down payment, the sum of $___________ was received and the amount of $____________ is due payable before puppy is released.
This puppy is a purebred Golden Retriever. Registration papers with the American Kennel Club will be included as part of this agreement, and will be provided to the buyer upon full payment of the puppy.
This puppy is sold as a pet quality puppy only. Puppy is warranted only for the purpose of being a companion animal. While it may be capable of performing other functions, no warranty is given as to its fitness for any special purpose.
Breeder guarantees that the puppy is healthy, and free of known contagious diseases. Puppy has had up to date vaccinations and dewormings required for its age at the time of this agreement.
The buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within two (2) days of receipt of the puppy, excluding weekends. If the puppy is determined to be in poor health, as evidenced by a veterinarian's written statement, the buyer can elect to keep the puppy, assuming all costs for its care, or may return the puppy for a full refund upon the breeder's receipt of the veterinarian's statement regarding the puppy's health. This provision will expire 48 hours after buyer takes possession of the puppy, excluding weekends.
Said puppy shall be free of canine hip dysplasia for the first year of life. The puppy’s hips must be x-rayed by a licensed veterinarian, certified and skilled at producing x-rays for OFA Evaluation. The preliminaries must be done before 12 months of age. The x-rays must be submitted to the OFA. If the hips do not certify as excellent, good or fair, and no other film is required by OFA, a puppy from another litter, of breeder’s choice and of equal value will be available to the buyer when a litter is born. The Buyer must provide to the seller proof of Spay/Neuter from Vet. This does not include hip deformations or abnormalities caused by injury, neglect, or other environmental conditions.
Breeding of this puppy shall indicate that the buyer believes, to the best of their ability, that said puppy is free from genetic defects covered by this guarantee and said guarantee will be null and void!
If said puppy is found to have any of the above mentioned conditions, the buyer shall notify the seller immediately and provide appropriate documentation of the problem, and promptly spay or neuter the puppy. Documentation of the spay or neuter shall be provided to the seller.
After the puppy has been spayed or neutered the buyer shall be entitled to a comparable puppy out of a future litter as soon as one is available and at no cost to the buyer.
If the said puppy is sold then this guarantee becomes null and void.
Breeder strongly encourages buyer to attend puppy obedience classes with puppy to help provide proper socialization. Breeder strongly urges owner to spay/neuter the puppy at 6 months of age.
The said puppy has been vaccinated and dewormed. A record / schedule will be provided.
